new2.gif (111 bytes) Rome - AICC 2004 Show

Here is a brief biography of the judges:

- Alberto Cremonesi - vice-president AICC, expert AICC judge of the Cane Corso has been following the breed for years, already president in the 1996 Lazio delegation of SACC (the most numerous in the history of any club) he joined the AICC and in 1999 became vice-president. Organizer of the Rome show, he is known for his dedication to the breed.

- Dr. Patrician D'Alonzo, expert AICC judge, This is her 3rd show. Great expert of the canine breeds (she is asked to judge every Sunday) has become a great fan and friend of the Cane Corso. Her breed knowledge and the technique she uses while judging, will be very important during the show as she interfaces with the American ICCF colleague during the judgments.

- Ed Hodas is able, without a shade of doubt, to be defined as the father of the Cane Corso in America. He in fact has been breeding the Cano Corso for 14 years under the Belmonte name. The figures point out to an extraordinary success: Ed Hodas has produced 40 champions and 5 Grand Champions. The annual and prestigious appointments of the National Specialty has seen the BOB assigned to one of his dogs in 1993, 1994, 1995, 1997, 1998, 2001, 2002. In the special classification of the top male Cane Corso, its subjects have been placed in first place in 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 199, 1997, 1998, 2002. While for the top female they have been classified in the first place in 1994, 1995, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003. Ed Hodas, together with his wife Kristie, is one of the founders of the ICCF (International Cane Corso Federation), it has become the greatest Cane Corso association in the world. For twelve years he has been a director the association, also in charge of the standard committee and the judges committee. His presence has been conclusive for the evolution of the guardianship and the selection of the Cane Corso overseas. Ed Hodas and his wife Kristie are also the founders of the ICCF Registry. Today we can affirm, without theme of denial, that there would not be a certified history of the American subjects without this initiative, the result would have meant serious injury to the guardianship and the selection of the CC breed. For these motives we are thankful that Ed Hodas has accepted with enthusiasm our invitation to judge at our AICC show in Rome. We would like to publicly express our recognition for how much Ed has done in these past years for the Cane Corso breed. A special thanks to Mr. Nick Di Croce for the translation of the text in English.

AICC President
Renzo Carosio

In May 2004 Ed Hodas received an email from Mr. Renzo Carosio the AICC President which is the largest Cane Corso club in Italy. He was requesting that Ed be the judge for their National Speciatly which is the most prestigous show of the year worldwide for the Cane Corso. Ed is humbled and honored by this request and looks forward to this opportunity.

Congratulations Ed Hodas on your selection to judge the 11th annual AICC International show in Rome this month. This show is year in and year out the largest Cane Corso specialty show in the world! with usually well over 100 participants. This is without question a well deserved honor and I know you will do the ICCF proud. Kudos to the AICC for recognizing the commitment and passion of the American Corstisi in for the second year in a row selecting and American judge for this prestigious assignment.
-Michael Ertaskiran 6/5/04 Godiva Cane Corso

Congratulations, EdIf anyone deserves the right to judge the Cane Corso you do !!! Bascially you and Kris started the breed in the US. and you and Kris have been great friends to both Nora and I for many years. I remember it started with a handshake and it's been that way for many years. You have certainly payed your dues.
Sincerely,
Ron & Nora Williams - 6/4/04 Carwood Cane Corso

That is so exciting! What an honor, congrats.
- Karin 6/5/04

- Payse Puckett Colossal Cane Corso 6/5/04

Ed, I know you will do an extraordinary job judging. You are one of the very best in the Cane Corso community. I respect your keen eye and good taste when it comes to the Cane Corso's.
-Janet Gigante 6/5/04

Thats great to hear, another strong tie to the corso world getting honored with the selection. Good luck Ed and have a great time, hope to maybe hear or read a story on it?? Another positive for us 'AMERICANS'!!!
Frank 6/5/04

We know you'll do great! Have fun and take someone to take picts for us!
-Wendy 6/5/04

Where would the Cane Corso breed in America be without Ed Hodas....10 steps back. You have done more good things for this breed than can be talked about here because there would be no room for other posts. Congratulations Ed this judging assignment could not of happened to a better or more deserving person.
-Anthony Carfagna 6/5/04 Carfagna's Cane Corso

It's about time that America's finest is recognized! Very few Corsi breeders have achieved what Eddie has. He is one of the most knowledgeable Corso enthusiasts on the planet. He has forgotten more about this breed than most of us will ever know. Not only that, but he and Kris are some of the nicest people around. Good for you, Eddie! Nobody deserves it more. Kris, I hope you get to go too. You deserve a little vacation for all the work you put in on this breed!
-Shauna DeMoss 6/5/04, CastleGuard Cane Corso

I suspect Ed will have one of the most memorable and wonderful experiences of his life! WOW
-Julie Sandson 6/5/04

I truely think they picked the best most knowledgable Corso person out there! I don't have to tell you how I feel about your dogs and taste in dogs-my whole line is based on them!Without you and Kris and Bel Monte I wouldn't have the dogs I have today! Thanks and Congrats!I hope you guys have a great time!
-Dori Vronch, Sentinel Cane Corso 6/7/04

Congratulations Ed, Well deserved. It should be mentioned that several years ago when Byron and I started to research the breed, Ed was one of the breeders who was willing to spend hours on the phone, many times at his own cost, educating us in regard to the breed...despite the fact we didn't buy a dog from him. He simply had a passion for the dogs, and was more than happy to pass along his vast knowledge to a couple of "newbies" to the breed. Much appreciated. Have a great and safe trip.
Regards,
Betty Osing, Darkstone Kennel 6/6/04
